Does the $0.50 fee apply to every trade, even small ones?

Yes. The fee is a flat $0.50 per executed trade, regardless of share count, price, or total notional value. A $10 trade and a $10,000 trade both incur $0.50.

Will the fee affect my paper trading balance?

Yes. The $0.50 is deducted from your cash balance at execution. The trade confirmation modal shows the estimated total including the fee before you confirm.

Is the fee charged if I cancel my order?

No fee is charged until the order fills. Cancelled or expired orders incur no fee. Only executed (filled) trades are charged.

Do margin trades have additional fees?

Margin trades incur $0.50 per trade plus a 7.5% APR borrow fee accruing daily on your margin balance. Short selling includes a 2.5% APR borrow fee on shorted shares.

Where can I see my fee history?

Your complete trade history with fee details is available at /trade-journal. Export to CSV for record-keeping.

When will real-money trading fees apply?

Real-money fees will be disclosed separately once our Alpaca brokerage integration receives SEC approval. Paper and live trading are tracked separately in your account.
